It’s true, although I’ve never really thought of them as shoulder pads.
They are more like prosthetics.
I am shoulder deficient.
The rounded shoulders I was born with need a little umph to boost my shoulder to hip ratio as well as my “get out there and fight like a man” chutzpah.
I mean, really, are akin to the red lipstick my grandmother used to wear.
But I digress….the reality is thanks to the runway designers of the past few seasons–shoulder pads are back, baby, and I’m loving it!
I discovered by shoulder disability in the eighties, of course, thanks to my favorite designer Norma Kamali (who’s also back, by the way!)
I shed the shoulder pads sometime in the late 90’s. We moved to the mountains, I went all nature girl, even shedding makeup for awhile. But, I’m back! And so are my favorite accessory! Giddy Up!
